Message from the Executive Director
Dear Friends and Supporters,
As the Executive Director of West Sound Wildlife Shelter, it is my profound honor to welcome you to an extraordinary night in support of our vital mission. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate two significant milestones: our 20th Call to the Wild Gala and Auction and the 32nd anniversary of our Shelter's founding!
On behalf of our Board and dedicated staff, I extend heartfelt thanks for your participation in this year’s benefit auction. Your unwavering support is the lifeblood of the life-saving medical services we provide to over 1,600 sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife patients every year. The Call to the Wild Gala is our most important fundraising event of the year, and the funds raised tonight will have a direct and profound impact, enabling us to continue our crucial work in wildlife rehabilitation and education.
West Sound Wildlife Shelter proudly stands as the only wildlife rehabilitation hospital on the Kitsap Peninsula. When wildlife in our region is in dire need of medical care, we are their only sanctuary. What began 32 years ago with just 345 patients in our inaugural year has grown exponentially, with over 1,600 patients expected in 2024. The increasing demand for our services underscores the critical need for your continued support.
This evening would not be possible without the generous contributions of individuals and businesses who share our passion for wildlife conservation. Thank you once again for joining us and for making a difference. We hope to see you on the 12th for a wonderful evening as we come together to protect and preserve the precious wildlife that shares our world.
With deepest gratitude,
Lisa Horn
