Award Winning wildlife photographer, LaVey Norquist began her career in the film and manual focusing era. When digital cameras came around, she was already adept at fast focusing to capture the beauty of wildlife in their natural habitat, mostly from a boat or dingy. From Anacortes, WA to Vancouver Island to Alaska, Norquist traveled with her videographer husband and found wildlife beauty at it's best. LaVey Norquist is especially known for her photos of the "Spirit Bear," a black bear with a rare genetic trait that causes their fur to be a cream-color. Because of it's ghost like appearance, Spirit Bears hold a prominent place in native mythology in the Great Bear Raine Forest of British Columbia.
